Today marks another milestone. She can have hairdo's! This is quite darling I must say. She has wavy hair like her auntie. And today it went into a perfect curl, Pebbles style. She ripped it out the first 10 seconds but it lasted long enough to get it this photo.

Cousins are so fun!
Love this family!!
Had so much fun with the Young's as we travelled across the state. Zaiya hadn't met these cousins yet and was a wonderful break from driving. Danica and I grew up across the meadow from each other. Was so darling to see the kids just want to touch or hold the baby.
Can't believe how much the kids have changed. I haven't seen them in a year and it startles me to see little glimpses of young men and women in them but oh so glad they still race, quiz, and argue.
Zaiya ate it up. Loved having all that attention and action!
As we left their place (just gorgeous!) I looked to the left and saw 50 some combines lined up headed west on railcars! That's not something you see too often and they are the right color. John Deere green!

4 Months Old
Time goes so fast. I know everyone says it. I don't think you realize it unless you have one of your own kids. I never knew life could fly by so quickly! It's been an awesome 4 months. I've noticed her change a lot in the last week as far as her personality developing more and her mobility/coordination. It is fascinating to watch her learn. It's bittersweet in some ways. Even though I would love to have her sitting and crawling to grab her own toys that she tosses to the side, I will probably cry when she does.
There are just a few shots when I got her dressed on her birthday. :)
Check out those biceps eh?!
My little kitchen helper.
Everyday life
Grandpa Frosty came to visit for an hour. He was picking up paperwork to head North and baby cuddled in. He also got a new work pickup so daddy and baby went to check it out. I love her expression! She's sitting on the briefcase not at all impressed like, "Why me?"
I had some honey do projects.
Well.
Let's not lie. I have a LOT of them. But this one was of top priority.
The poor wheelbarrow underwent some hard times by getting nicked by the loader last fall. It was slight but it bent and broke so Dustin had to redo the handles and straighten the whole mess. The weather was so beautiful, I put Zaiya outside to oversee the whole project and keep dad motivated!
She was pretty intent watching him. And keeping track of his tape measure! It was a beautiful evening and a quick fix. I was very glad to have a wheelbarrow back in working condition.
Just some ordinary days! They're sure sweet with a little mini helping out :)

Last days home
Zaiya loves her auntie. She just watches her in awe especially because Jewel only speaks to her in Spanish. It is really fun to watch them interact and Zaiya is enthralled with all endings of words: 'sita's, o's, and a's!
While we were at home, we hung out at Jewel's house and she had visitors. Zaiya really had lots of big exciting things to say to Shawna!
She told Carolyn a story that included everyone at the table.
Jewel takes her out to oversee Grandpa and Uncle Tony.
Last night we were home was the greatest moonrise I've ever seen. It was stunning, and was a nice little surprise before we had to start the long journey home the next morning.
First Laugh at 2 days shy of 3 Months
I'm a little out of date order here. This happened two days before leaving to visit grandpa and grandma out west.
We've been waiting and waiting for this one. She smiles all the time and coo's. But this was the first time she laughed and giggled out loud. I was so happy she first laughed to Dustin. I get so many of her "first's" because I'm home with her all day, I just love it was to her dad.
Of course it would be to her daddy sounding like a truck!

East, West, Hame's best!
Last wednesday we headed east to Dickinson for Special Meetings. What a wonderful day! On the way we pass Roosevelt National Park which has wild horses and bisen. We saw horses, but I wasn't quick enough on the draw with my camera. We saw about 35 of them and we saw about 100 bisen. Evidently they had done a round up to get numbers, which made for a great sight! This lonely large beastie was my favorite.
Here is another sight I always mean to get a snap of and finally did. It's an old barn just in the middle of no where with just sky to look over it.

Then, on Thursday I did an about turn! Grandma and Grandpa were missing their baby, so mommy and baby came home for a couple weeks. This was daddy's last snuggle for two weeks.
We have helped feed cows, move cows, milk cows, doctor cows, bottle feed calves and feed chickens. We have eaten grandma's yummy food, found excellent thrift finds (oh fun!) and hung out.
Zaiya loves the mountains. In fact best way to keep her occupied is to put her near a window where she can see the trees. So much the better if the wind is moving them a bit because she just watches and watches! It's the best babysitter ever.
She's been a sick little love. She is teething and often that comes with a cold. Mom is glad she's near grandma because she is a panicking with every snurffle and snort and gasp. They say this is normal for a first time mommy with the first time sick baby..... it's so scary.
Other than that, we love being home! I think this cat is looking for a careless mouse....

I love this photo. Daddy and daughter photos just get me every time. Nothing so sweet as a little girl adoring her daddy and him wrapped around her little finger!
Snuggles with Grandma Mary.

Grandpa Doug is teaching Zaiya how to bid on cows. She caught on quick!
Nap time with Grandpa.

Uncle Tony is alright too though! In fact she will only laugh and giggle for her daddy and Uncle Tony.

Grandma getting Zaiya to strengthen her legs, and distracting her from her stuffy nose and rattly cough.
Aunt Jewel to the rescue and with food! Looks like she's reaching for it :)

Circle skirts
Well how fun is this!! I discovered how to make circle skirts and I went a little crazy. They're just so cute in little girls. I get tired of all the onsie/pant sets. Why can't there be cute onsie/skirt sets? And I've searched stores for skirts for 0-3 months. Can't find 'em!
So here's my fun in an afternoon. 3 are finished and one almost done and one just cut out. They are adorable. And make perfect, sweet little gifts for little girls of all ages! I've even made one for me :)
We have a special visitor today. Heidi came to see us! Heidi brought Rebecca with her, it was fun to meet her. I've known Heidi for years and it is such fun to be worth her again and meet little Zaiya.

Happy 60th Grandpa Frasch and Happy 3 Months Baby Girl
Grandpa Frosty turned 60 and we went over to celebrate. Grandma and Grandpa entertained her while daddy and I attended some business on the web with FAST internet. What a difference fast internet makes!
Happy Birthday Grandpa!
It also happened to be Zaiya's 3 month birthday in a couple days, so Grandma took some photos and they turned out just darling. She has a lot of expressions that flicker across her face and she continually keeps us laughing.
At 3 months she:
Laughs and Giggles
Sleeps 6 hours at a stretch at night
Adores her Daddy
Talks all the time if she has an audience!
Favorite word: Ah-Ghee
Holds her head steady
Looks like her Grandma Mary here as a baby!
This is a Zaiya trait- folding her hands together.
Who is that baby looking back at me?
It's been agreed that by her looks alone, I have not given any genetic contribution to this child! However: finally a picture that resembles me! But just in the eyes and a little in the mouth :)
Helping mommy on the computer, but looking just like her daddy :)
